This performance should be up there with the greats....they overshadowed everybody that night...i had to watch this twice to make sure it was real....Priest shouldve been the last band on that night...Halford's performance is one for the ages....there wasnt anything that topped Priest after they came on

I remember well sitting in front of the TV recording this event on several music tapes with a tape recorder the whole night through. Timeless memory considering that everything is so easily accessible on UA-cam nowadays...! Watching this in the retrospective I feel that every single band came there playing to win and did their very sweaty best to capture the fans. For me as a German (Hannoveraner) I truly would have loved to see the scorpions at #1, but have to acknowledge that without envy Judas Priest showcased what heavy metal is all about. They were and will always be the ultimative band in this game.
